COLIN D. PIETZ [Of Counsel]
Colin focuses in the areas of Real Estate Law, Corporate Law, Tax Law, Estate Planning and Probate. Colin has an extensive background in advising and representing businesses and their owners as well as representing professionals and other individuals in business, tax and estate planning matters. Colin has a very active real estate and estate planning practice, and he has also devoted a substantial portion of his time in the formation of business entities including partnerships, corporations and limited liability companies.
Colin received his undergraduate degree from the Wisconsin State University summa cum laude in 1966 and from the University of Wisconsin Law School cum laude in 1968. While in law school he was a member of the Order of the Coif and the Wisconsin Law Review. He has lectured at the University of Wisconsin Law School General Practice course in the areas of Counseling Business Clients, Real Estate and Alternatives to Probate, and has lectured at continuing legal education programs on topics involving real estate, choice of business entities and estate planning. He has been listed in “The Best Lawyers in America” since 1993. Colin is a member of the Marathon County Bar Association, the American Bar Association and State Bar of Wisconsin. He served on active duty as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force JAG Corps, and is a past president of the Marathon County Bar Association, the Marathon County Blood Bank, Inc., and the Wausau Rotary Club. He has also served on the Board of Visitors and Board of Directors of Wausau Law Alumni Association as well as the District 16 Committee of the Office of Lawyer Regulation.
