  SHANE J. VANDERWAAL [Shareholder]

Mr. VanderWaal is a partner in the firm. His practice includes general civil litigation with a focus in the areas of condemnation, property tax litigation, public construction disputes, real estate litigation including boundary disputes, surveying disputes, and zoning matters. Mr. VanderWaal further represents and advises clients in the area of municipal law.

Mr. VanderWaal also does extensive appellate litigation including reported decisions in Pace v. Oneida County, 212 Wis. 2d 448, 569 N.W. 2d 311 (Ct. App. 1997); In Re Paternity of RJW, 218 Wis. 2d 255, 578 N.W. 2d 185 (1998); Society Ins. v. Linehan, 238 Wis. 2d 359, 616 N.W. 2d 918 (Ct. App. 2000); Trailwood Ventures, LLC v. Village of Kronenwetter, 2009 WI App 18, 762 N.W. 2d 841.

Mr. VanderWaal graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1989. After graduation from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 1989, Mr. VanderWaal received his Juris Doctorate from Hamline University School of Law in 1992.

Significant representations include: Wisconsin Valley Improvement Company; Liberty Mutual in property tax and condemnation matters; Village of Marathon City, Village of Rothschild, City of Schofield, Town of Weston, Town of Mosinee, Town of Bergen, Town of Wausau, Town of Wittenberg (Shawano County), Town of Texas, Town of Stettin, Town of Loyal (Clark County), Town of Hamburg, Wisconsin Department of Transportation-Bureau of Aeronautics in condemnation matters, various Boards of Review, as well as various other individuals and entities.

Mr. VanderWaal is a member of the Wisconsin Bar Association, Marathon County Bar Association, and Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers. Mr. VanderWaal is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Eastern District and Western District.
